Important features of the home: post & beam wrapped with rustic alder, hand-made blue & white tile, custom cabinet design.
Inspired by: a rustic southern-European style, the heirloom furniture hutch, &the blue-and white ceramic tile.
My favorite details: the Classic Basaltina stone counters. This stone from Rome is a gorgeous grey tone with subtle veining. The inset-door style cabinets that face the living room correspond with the decorative hutch. The rustic post & beam wrap tie it all together.

Project goals
In this small Shoreline home, it was important to open the kitchen up to the living areas & design the kitchen layout to increase storage despite the loss of wall cabinets. Wrapping the bearing post & beam with rustic alder, visually separatesthe kitchen space & adds to the character of the home.
Other areas of the home remodeled: we added a small guest bathroom in the bonus room. Bronze fittings, white subway tile & rustic furniture-style vanity are features of the bathroom.
